About

There's no faster way to ruin your burn than a broken bike. A broken bike is worse than no bike at all — it's an anchor, a weight, and a MOOPy hazard hanging around your neck like an albatross.

That's where we come in. Maybe Bike Repair is a Burning Man theme camp of committed bike mechanics, enthusiasts, and artists who work with Burners to unfuck their bikes and get them rolling again.

We're born from the leadership of Playa Bike Repair, and we believe the playa needs a great bike repair camp. 2026 is our third year on playa, and in 2025 alone we repaired over 1,000 bikes. Does it always work? No. That's why we're "Maybe."

Why Bike Repair?

  • Gifting — There's no greater playa gift than giving someone back their mobility and independence.
  • Radical Self-Reliance — We don't just fix your bike. We teach you how to fix it yourself. Skills you'll take home to the default world.
  • Immediacy — We don't schedule bike repairs. They happen now, right when you need them.
  • Participation — You're helping fix your own bike. Even if it's just singing love songs in broken Tagalog while we lube up your spokes.

Bike Repair

Open daily during the event. Bring your broken bike and we'll work with you to get it fixed. Flats, brake issues, chain problems, twisted whatchamacallits — we've got you.

Hours

Bike repair runs 10am – 2pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Closed Wednesdays. Walk-ups welcome. First come, first served.

We're a team of real-deal bike mechanics, greeters, support crew, and one dedicated emotional support person for when we can't fix your bike.
